Blue Carbon
We are developing monitoring solutions for coastal ecosystems - including seagrass, mangroves and saltmarshes. These algorithms will be able to monitor the current health of these ecosystems as well as go back into the satellite archives to go back in time to understand trends and patterns in coastal ecosystems.
Additionally, we are developing algorithms to monitor the carbon volumes sequestered away in these habitats to aid project developers in objectively verifying the permanence of carbon stored. This allows project developers to get on with cultivating the health of these ecosystems while having peace of mind that an overall picture of their projects is being monitored at the frequency desired.
So far we have only analysed seagrass beds located in the UK - producing maps and datasheets on the health of these systems - but by using satellite technology and a scalable AI architecture, we are able to scale up this analysis to any area in the world.
